I meant to post stuff here and can barely believe it’s been seven months to the day! I was reminded at the weekend over elevenses that I’ve not let Stuey down at all in the meantime of things being as is. (Apparently he’s fine but his lil crowd are happy offline and taking the slow lane, soiree-ing away -studying some call it!- and once in a while… I’ve missed some post apparently but nothing spectacular and no big deal…)
Anyhow, I’ll pick up the threads of something somewhere and get back to a better routine whenever it happens along.
I’m posting a little verse I made at the weekend using a method Stu showed me when he wrote a m~o~v~i~n~g poem during his BloggingU writing/poetry workshopping. Took me ages to get the jist and I’ll track back and link to his poem another day. (I’m supposed to be posting my poetry essays over on pages at PittePatter but getting around and about too much has been reducing my online-ing time and efforts! That’s another way of saying I haven’t readied any yet, me, being me.)
This was inspired by my sloPo all year until a summer rest phase and then dropping into symposium mode of ModPo’s week 4 to cover stuff I missed other years so far with Gertrude Stein and the like. And I’d just read the first poem for week 5 reading too (‘Lines for the Abortionist’s Office’ by ‘Ruth Lechlitner – an unfortunate name for a female poet indeed and not exactly a laughing matter but …)
[no working title yet, so so far untitled]
That’s all for now, but you might find me getting back to writes whenever and wherever – and if you’d like to read another of my ModPo reflective poems with a bit less body function another very recent poem (more traditional) is here: https://colettebates.wordpress.com/2017/10/10/taking-it-to-the-cleaners/
And still with #ModPo in mind (the strange tale of Duchamp & Elsa…) I’m leaving this fantastic artist’s illustration found in my twitter feed this avo: maybe it’s a cheek to take the liberty of inserting a tweet here of a local artist’s recent work – I don’t know this person and am not acquainted but I did attend a performance-art-piece of his/theirs once upon a time and very good it was too!
(if the image disappears i got a screenshot of this MCD tweet and do you have to spend a penny or send a tenner for an info request to ask permission for a Fair Use issue would be daft …but … (I’d love to put my lil poem on that virtual board …!)
… and please don’t let anyone starve anywhere if you can possibly help with a can of beans and adhoc food banks should be around every corner! Winter is on it’s way…
(We’re all ok and learnt to keep our own food banks at home in case dire straits ever turn up again, but welfare reform and people losing jobs and getting no jobseeker’s means every winter people are starving and freezing and it can be a long & impossible walk to a local authority service or the Salvation Army for some people – and the ONS aren’t publicising the losses of human life appropriately!)
