Nottingham Lace is a thing of the past

and these modern versions are made much too fast

on factory machines from far-away lands

but Nottingham Lace should be made by fair hands!

The label says ‘Nottingham Lace’, for sure,

and many might buy some, on a visiting tour –

though you may find it, on Nottingham’s Market Square

there is plenty that’s crooked, when trade isn’t fair.
